A Centenarian in Our Family

The lady above is my Great-Grandma Margaret "Peggy" Frye McIntyre.  On June 3, 2010 she turned 100 years old.  Turning 100 years old is a very special thing to do.  Not everyone is able to live this long and we are very lucky to have Great-Grandma still here with us. We had several celebrations for her during the week.

I am going to make this post about just one of her parties that she had.  This day was June 5, 2010.  We had a very special guest for my Great-Grandma this day as one of the Delegates from the Legislative House for the State of West Virginia came down to present Great-Grandma with a Citation.
Great-Grandma had guests that came to visit her at her party.  We were so happy to see everyone come out and congratulate her on her becoming 100 years old.
As one of her honors we got Great-Grandma a corsage of two yellow roses.

Great-Grandma had a lot of family and friends come out to celebrate with her and she was able to enjoy their warm wishes, cards, cake and coffee with them all.

My Cousin Samantha created this really great board that had all of these interesting facts about the year that Great- Grandma was born.  I have a pictures of it here.
We all enjoyed reading all of the interesting facts Samantha had listed. I hope you enjoy reading them too.
